In addition to daily routine activities for mosquito control, the organization has conducted combing operations in 10 wards of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

On Wednesday (September 25) in all the wards of DSCC, in addition to the daily routine activities, these combing operations were conducted in wards number 02, 18, 24, 25, 34, 49, 61, 62, 63 and 69 in combination with the organization’s health department and waste management department.

Dhaka South City Corporation spokesperson Abu Nacher said that more than 100 mosquito workers and 127 cleaners of the waste management department participated in the morning larvicide operation and afternoon adulticide operation in the combing operation. Also, according to the list dated 24 September sent by the Department of Health, the breeding grounds of Aedes mosquitoes have been destroyed through special larvicide and adulticide activities around dengue patients’ residences.

According to DSCC, the total number of dengue patients detected in Bangladesh yesterday is 801. Among them, the number of patients in the area covered by Dhaka South City Corporation is 153. But according to the list, after field verification, 57 patients were found in the area covered by DSCC.

Other patients have contracted dengue disease outside the South City catchment area and are currently being treated by their relatives or hospitals in the DSCC catchment area.
