Today, Sunday, the Kuwaiti Public Prosecution issued an order to detain the resigned President of the Football Association, Haif Al-Daihani, his deputy Ahmed Aqla, and Secretary-General Salah Al-Janaei (21) days pending a state security case by harming the country’s interests and broadcasting false news on the background of the events of the Kuwait-Iraq match.
The Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Majlis published on its website “X” a news item stating that “the Kuwaiti Public Prosecution issued an order to detain the resigned President of the Football Association, Haif Al-Daihani, his deputy Ahmed Aqla, and the Secretary-General Salah Al-Jana’i (21) days on a state security case by harming the country’s interests and broadcasting false news on the background of the events of the Kuwait-Iraq match.”
It is noteworthy that the match between Iraq and Kuwait, which took place on the tenth of this month, for the final qualifiers for the World Cup (2026), which took place in the State of Kuwait, ended in a goalless draw between the two teams.
