“For the most important matches of the season, we are without Ismael Diomande, whose season is over due to an injury. Unfortunately, we will also have to do without Emerson, who had an operation on Monday – he will not play again this year,” revealed Verpakovskis.
The RFS general manager revealed that Serbian Darko Lemajic and Czech Republic’s Petr Mares are still recovering from injuries, but could be back on the pitch in around two weeks. Also, Mārtiņš Ķigurs has also settled into the injury at the moment.
RFS is the second Latvian team after “Ventspils” to enter the main tournament of the UEFA European League, the no longer existing Kurzeme club enabled it in the 2009/2010 season. Two years ago, RFS competed in the main tournament of the UEFA Conference League, which is the third strongest club competition in Europe.
