Third division club VfL Osnabrück is in crisis. After the dismissal of Uwe Koschinat, the club has now presented a new coach.

Three days after parting ways with Uwe Koschinat, third division club VfL Osnabrück has presented a new coach. As the club announced, Pit Reimers will take over the Lower Saxony team. The 40-year-old coached the regional league team of Hamburger SV for almost four years and most recently worked as a scout for the second division club from the Hanseatic city.

“We have had very intensive discussions with Pit Reimers over the last few days. He has completely convinced us with his professional expertise and his in-depth knowledge of VfL, the current team and the 3rd division,” said VfL sports director Philipp Kaufmann.

After being relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga, Osnabrück are currently once again in a relegation spot. After parting ways with Koschinat, the team suffered a 2:5 home defeat against Energie Cottbus on Tuesday under the direction of interim coach Tim Danneberg.
