The pallet consolidates as the best transport option in Spain with 31% of the shipments, which means that one out of every three goods that move by road in our country already use this shipping model, according to a report prepared Red & Palette.
Thus, Spain rises positions in the European ranking of pallet transport, being in second place with the highest number of activities within the European Union, behind only Germany. The top 5 is completed by France, which until 2020 was in second place, Poland, which has increased significantly in recent years, and the Netherlands.
The report prepared by the company explores the specific characteristics of the Spanish sector, breaking down the variables that influence the performance of these shipments, as well as the factors that explain the competitiveness of palletized traffic in the supply chain.
“The results of the study confirm a change in the dynamics of the market, which is changing from a just-in-time model, which prioritized speed and quick delivery, to a right-of-situation strategy, characterized by greater planning and increased volume costs. This has a direct impact on pallet services, as companies now choose more economical transport options, which reduce costs, maximize routes, consolidate shipments and improve the efficiency of global logistics,” says José Antonio Mangas.
