The Minister of Interior in charge of the Government of National Unity, Major General Imad Al-Tarabulsi, held a meeting with the mayors of the western region, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Government, Mustafa Al-Turki, the Head of the Border Guard Service, Major General Muhammad Al-Marhani, and the Director of the Office of the Minister of Interior, Major General Abdul Wahid Abdul Samad.
The Ministry’s media office reported that the meeting discussed the security situation in the western region, in addition to discussing the Ministry of Interior’s plan to merge the security directorates with the aim of enhancing security coordination and raising the level of efficiency in facing security challenges.
The issue of providing fuel to ensure the continuity of basic services was also addressed, with emphasis on the importance of coordination between various parties to ensure the provision of essential needs for citizens.
The discussion also included enhancing cooperation with the Ministry of Interior to ensure stability and enhance security in the Western Region. It was agreed to develop practical mechanisms to confront the various security challenges that the region has witnessed recently, and to work on improving coordination between the Ministry of Interior and local authorities.
