(ANSA) – ROME, SEPTEMBER 25 – “It is now clear that the State does not have enough funds to support the National Health Service and the decline of recent months shows how the lack of concrete investments has caused enormous damage. For this reason, at the event I have organized in the Senate tomorrow at 9:30 in the Sala Zuccari, entitled ‘Living and Working in healthy environments’, I will present my idea to reduce the costs that weigh on public health. I will be joined by experts in the sector, including Professor Domenica Taruscio (President of the Kos Study Center) and Vice President Dr. Alberto Mantovani, whom I thank for their valuable organizational support. In particular, the bill I have worked on aims to establish an Interministerial Committee for Prevention, a fundamental step towards more coordinated and effective management of prevention policies. Too often, in fact, prevention activities are fragmented between the various ministries, leading to inefficiencies and a lack of synergy. The aim is to convey the message that prevention is better than cure and costs us less. With this new Committee, we aim to create a central body capable of harmonizing the strategies of the various Ministries, ensuring coordinated action and maximizing the use of available resources. This will lead not only to an improvement in preventive measures, but also to greater timeliness in managing emergencies. The Committee will not only be a coordination structure, but a point of reference for sharing good practices and monitoring the effectiveness of ongoing initiatives. I am confident that this proposal will bring concrete and tangible benefits for the safety and well-being of all Italian citizens”. This is written in a note by Orfeo Mazzella, Group Leader of the 5 Star Movement in the Senate Social Affairs Commission. (ANSA).
