jpnn.com – JAKARTA – The Indonesian U-20 National Team will face the Maldives U-20 National Team in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup qualifying round, Group F at the Madya Stadium, Jakarta, Wednesday (25/9), at 19.30 WIB.
The Indonesian U-20 national team in this match will not be strengthened by wing-back Welber Jardim and striker Arkhan Kaka. Both are not included in the 23 players of the Indonesian U-20 national team for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup qualification round.
Indonesian U-20 National Team Coach Indra Sjafri spoke up about Welber Jardim’s situation in his team. Indra explained that the Indonesian U-20 National Team has communicated with Welber Jardim’s club, Sao Paulo U-17.
According to Indra, Welber himself did not come even though he had been given a ticket and permission from the club.
“In principle, Welber’s club has released him to join the national team,” said Indra Sjafri in a press conference before the match at the Madya Stadium, Tuesday (24/9).
Meanwhile, Indra explained the reason Arkhan Kaka was not called up was because the coaching team agreed to include the striker born in 2005 for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup qualification, in this case Jens Raven and Muhammad Ragil.
This means that Kaka, who was born in 2007, was not brought along.
