Chaired by the Wali of the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, Khatib El Hebil, this session, which was attended by the governors of the region’s provinces, the president of the Regional Council and members of the CRDH, was devoted to the examination and approval of several conventions as well as the presentation of a regional roadmap for the prevention and fight against micronutrient deficiencies.

Speaking on this occasion, the Wali of the region indicated that several projects have been financed in the region of Béni Mellal-Khénifra, over the last four years, within the framework of the INDH, adding that these projects have helped to strengthen infrastructure, improve socio-economic conditions and social services in rural areas and create a new dynamic relating to support for employment and training for young people, in addition to promoting health provision and education for future generations.

He also stressed the need to accelerate the pace of implementation of scheduled projects and the concertation of efforts by stakeholders in the region to overcome all the constraints posed at the level of programming and implementation of projects in phase III of the INDH, in particular to ensure the sustainability of the impact of the projects carried out, the diversification of sources of financing as well as the strengthening of governance mechanisms.

During this session, the head of the social action division at the Wilaya of the region gave a presentation in which he discussed the achievements of the INDH for the years 2019-2022 and presented the three partnership agreements adopted unanimously, namely, the partnership agreement between the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, the Wilaya of the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region and the Council of the region, intended to promote the socio-economic conditions of women in difficult situations and people with disabilities, for a total cost of 20 million dirhams as well as the partnership agreement between the Wilaya of the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region (Regional Committee for Human Development) and the Regional Academy of Education and Training, aimed at developing the academic support program for boarding students in the region.

This also concerns the partnership agreement relating to the digital school, intended to provide training related to the fields of modern IT and digitalization technologies for a period of two years, renewable for the benefit of around fifty young trainees from the region on an annual basis.

A regional roadmap was also presented to prevent and combat deficiencies in compounds and nutrients, particularly deficiencies in vitamins A and D, iodine and iron, which cause health problems, particularly in children, women of childbearing age and pregnant women.

This roadmap aims to strengthen and unify programs to address this problem, by strengthening coordination between actors, improving monitoring and awareness, and developing research and evaluation.

This meeting was marked by several interventions during which the participants debated a series of questions and suggestions likely to improve the governance and implementation of various initiatives and projects within the framework of the INDH.
