Rain is expected in many states including Delhi-NCR, UP, Rajasthan, Odisha, Maharashtra tomorrow i.e. on 26th September. It may rain in many other places including North Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over Konkan and Goa, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada in the next two days.

Badra will rain again in Delhi

There is good news for the people of Delhi suffering from heat and humidity. Had to face heat on Wednesday morning. The morning minimum temperature was recorded at 26.8 degrees Celsius, about three degrees above normal. However, tomorrow i.e. on 26th September, the Meteorological Department has predicted light rain throughout the day. This is expected to bring down the temperature. IMD indicated that many areas will remain cloudy and light rain or drizzle may occur. At 8:30 am on Wednesday, according to the IMD website, the humidity level was recorded at 84 per cent. The maximum temperature on Thursday is expected to be 36 degrees Celsius.

‘Yellow’ alert regarding rain in Himachal

The weather in Himachal Pradesh has remained mainly dry for the last three days. 23 roads in the state are still closed for traffic. The local meteorological department said on Tuesday that there was a 21 percent reduction in rainfall in the current monsoon season from June 1 to September 24. Himachal Pradesh received 573.70 mm rainfall against the normal of 723.10 millimeters (mm). The weather has remained mainly dry for the last two days. However, tomorrow i.e. Thursday, a rain warning has been issued in Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts. Along with this, ‘Yellow’ alert of thunderstorm and lightning has also been issued at different places in six out of 12 districts of the state.

Heavy rain forecast in Odisha

Under the influence of the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, Odisha is likely to receive heavy rains at most places in 20 districts for the next few days. The India Meteorological Department has predicted torrential rain (7-11 cm) with thunderstorms at isolated places in 20 districts of the state on Thursday. Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over the central Bay of Bengal, a low pressure area has formed over west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining northwest coasts of North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha.

The impact of the cyclonic circulation resulted in heavy rainfall over Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati by 26 September. There is a possibility of rain. Apart from this, thundershowers may occur at isolated places in Nuapada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Rayagada, the bulletin said.

Rain alert in many districts of Bengal

Due to the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, light to moderate rain may occur over most places in West Bengal during the next two or three days. Heavy rain is also expected in some areas. The weather department has also warned of landslides in sensitive areas of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts. Due to the low pressure area, heavy rains are expected in many districts of South Bengal till September 26 and in North Bengal till the next day.

Heavy rain is likely over South Bengal’s North and South 24 Parganas, Purba Medinipur, Murshidabad, Nadia, Birbhum, Hooghly, East and West Bardhaman, Bankura, Purulia and Jhargram districts during the period till September 26. Heavy rains are expected in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Malda, Alipurduar, North and South Dinajpur and Cooch Behar districts of North Bengal till September 27. While very heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar.

Widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over Konkan and Goa, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada in the next three days. Thereafter, scattered to widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over the entire region for the next four days. Similar rainfall has been predicted in Saurashtra and Kutch throughout the week. On September 25, there is a possibility of thunderstorm with lightning and strong winds along with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall. Widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh in the next three days, while isolated to widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected in the subsequent four days. Similar rain is expected in Madhya Pradesh throughout the week. Over the next seven days, widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected over Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
