Kochi: A middle-aged man committed suicide by setting himself on fire in front of his friend’s house in Kannur, Ernakulam. The deceased was identified as Shaji, a native of Karumalur. He was traveling in an autorickshaw to a friend’s house near Kanjur Church when he started a fire with kerosene. Shaji died on the spot. The initial conclusion of the police was that the financial dispute between the two was the reason for the suicide.
Missing tribal youth found dead
Palakkad: An adivasi youth who went missing three days ago was found dead inside a well. Mallesh, son of Rangan and Thulasi couple from Attappadi Sholayur Kallakkara village was found dead in the well. He was 18 years old. According to locals, the tribal youth, who went missing three days ago, had mental problems. On February 7, another girl was found dead in the same well in Kallakkara village.
Student drowns in Bharathapuzha
Palakkad: A student drowned at Podipara in Kallekkad. The deceased was identified as Shifad, 14, of Bharathapuzha. Shifad, who was bathing with his friends, was drowning. Locals and volunteers rushed Shifad to the hospital but he could not be saved
