The driver was arrested, his alcohol and drug tests were negative
Due to inappropriate speed and poor judgment of the distance to pass, a minibus hit and killed pedestrians in Burgas. The incident happened at 7:54 a.m. on “Krayezerna” street near the Burgas duty-free zone. Then, three pedestrians – two men and one woman – were pinned against a parked and waiting turnpike by a passing van, whose driver did not correctly judge the lateral distance when passing. All three were from the quarter “Dolno Ezerovo” and worked in the duty-free zone.
One man and his wife died on the spot, and the second man was taken to a hospital. There is currently no information on his health.
The road section is passable in one lane, through manual regulation by employees of the “traffic police” sector. The examination and removal of the bodies of the deceased for autopsy to the “forensic medicine” department at the UMBAL – Burgas is pending.
Meanwhile, the police announced that the driver was detained for a period of up to 24 hours in the Second RU. His alcohol and drug tests were negative, blood was taken for chemical analysis.
