The Chong Kun Dang Art Award’s past selection exhibitions were designed as an opportunity to vividly convey the creative activities of new painting artists who have been recognized for their potential and to share painting values with fellow artists.
This special exhibition, held under the theme of ‘Time when painting and life dance’, is said to have been prepared to highlight changes in the work activities of artists selected for the Chong Kun Dang Art Award and recent trends in painting. This year’s exhibition will feature 81 new works by 15 artists selected for the Chong Kun Dang Art Award from 2017 to 2021. A special exhibition will also be held showcasing the recent works of 15 artists selected from 2012 to 2016 and 9 artists selected this year from 2022.
In addition, an archive zone was set up to display interview videos, catalogs, and personal publications of artists selected for the Chong Kun Dang Art Award over the past 13 years, allowing artists and visitors to communicate.
An official from Chong Kun Dang Holdings said, “This exhibition has special meaning as it is a special exhibition that brings together the works of 39 artists selected for the Chong Kun Dang Art Award in one place,” adding, “It will be a good opportunity to share the world of works and build a network with past selected artists.” “I expect that,” he said. Following previous selected artist exhibitions, the ’11th Chong Kun Dang Art Award Special Exhibition’ will be held from the 10th to the 21st of next month at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, Hall 1, showing works created over the past three years by three artists selected in 2022, including Park Si-wol, Oh Se-kyung, and Choi Soo-jeong. Meanwhile, Chong Kun Dang Holdings has selected three new artists every year through the Chong Kun Dang Art Awards since 2012. A total of 39 artists have been supported so far this year. Selected artists will be provided with an annual creative grant of 10 million won for three years and given the opportunity to hold a special exhibition in the last year of support.
