jpnn.comJAKARTA – Arkhan Kaka was not called up to strengthen the Indonesian U-20 National Team in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification.

Indonesian U-20 National Team coach Indra Sjafri revealed the reason he did not call Arkhan Kaka into his squad of 23 for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Indra said that this was because the coaching team agreed to include strikers born in 2005 for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup qualification, in this case Jens Raven and Muhammad Ragil.

This meant that Kaka, who was born in 2007, was not brought in. The same thing happened to Ousmane Camara.

“There are also four strikers, Jens Raven born in 2005, Ragil born in 2005, Ousmane born in 2007, and Kaka born in 2007,” said Indra at a press conference at Madya Stadium, Tuesday (24/9).

“I discussed with the team, analyzed, collected all the data, finally we decided to give those born in 2005 a chance, because for 2007 they could still be in the next U-19,” he continued.

Regarding whether Kaka will be called up again after qualifying for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup, Indra said he would see the player’s development first.

“We will see the player’s development. Because the player is big in the club, we will see his development,” said Indra Sjafri.
