The Censor Board is preparing to use sword and not scissors on Punjabi industry and Bollywood superhit singer Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming film ‘Punjab 95’. This film, which has been surrounded by controversy for a long time, is the story of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. Diljeet is going to play the role of Jaswant Singh Khalra in the film. The title of this film was ‘Ghallughara’, but later the makers changed it to ‘Punjab 95’. This film has been stuck in the censor board’s throat for a long time. Now the news is that since the story of the film is on a sensitive issue, the Censor Board does not want to make any mistake this time.

Talk about 85 cuts in Diljit’s film

It is being said that 85 cuts were made in this film of Diljit. But this cut is going to be on a large scale. The revised committee has given instructions to make 120 cuts instead of 85. There is news that the board also has a problem with the title of the film and has asked to change it once again.

This is why there is objection on the title of the film ‘Punjab 95’

It was told in the report of ‘Mid Day’ that wherever there is mention of Punjab and its district Tarn Taran Sahib in this film, it should be removed. Apart from this, it was also said that references to Canada and UK should be removed. Objection is being raised on the title of the film ‘Punjab 95’ because Jaswant Singh Khalda went missing in the year 1995. It is being said that in such a situation, people’s sentiments can be hurt by the name of the film.

Instructions to change even the name of the lead character

There has also been a demand to change the name of the film’s main character Jaswant Singh Khalra. Not only this, the board has also lodged objection on the Gurbani scene present in the film. The new committee added 35 more cuts

After this, the makers appealed for freedom of speech and asked to take a re-decision on these instructions. After this, a new committee was formed and apart from the previous decision, they found 35 more shortcomings in this film, on which scissoring has been said.

Let us tell you that Jaswant Singh Khalra was the director of a bank in Amritsar, Punjab. He was also known for raising his voice for human rights. There was a period of extremism then. A big secret of Punjab Police was revealed in the investigation of Khalra. Only after this the CBI came to know that Punjab Police had illegally cremated 2097 people in Tarn Taran district. Later this figure was also accepted by the Supreme Court and the National Human Rights Commission.

Jaswant Singh Khalra suddenly went missing

Finally, one day in the year 1995, Jaswant Singh Khalra went missing. Later his body was recovered. This incident created a stir. Later, Jaswant Singh Khalra’s wife Paramjit Kaur filed a case of murder, kidnapping and criminal conspiracy. Punjab Police initially called it a case of suicide.
