The Goseong Songhak-dong Ancient Tombs, with 1,500 years of history, celebrate the first anniversary of their registration as a World Heritage Site. Goseong-gun (Governor Lee Sang-geun) announced that it will hold various cultural and academic events in October to commemorate the first anniversary of the registration of the Songhak-dong Ancient Tombs in Goseong as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This commemorative event was prepared to publicize the historical and cultural value of the ancient tombs in Songhak-dong, Goseong, and to provide an opportunity for local residents, tourists, and experts in each field to participate.
As a special performance to mark the start of the event, Kim Hyeon-cheol’s orchestra performance, which celebrates Gaya culture through music, will be held at the ancient tombs in Songhak-dong, Goseong, at 18:30 on October 3. This performance will be a unique stage combining classical and popular music.
The Sogaya Academic Conference will be held at the Goseong-gun Culture and Sports Center from 13:00 on October 8, and scholars from various fields such as archeology, history, and cultural heritage preservation will gather to present and discuss the latest research related to the Gaya Ancient Tombs. This competition will be an important opportunity to exchange academic values and research results on Gaya culture.
At 16:00 on October 11, Professor Yoo Hong-jun of “My Cultural Heritage Field Trip” will give a special cultural lecture on the topic of Goseong’s cultural heritage field trip and the identity of Korean cultural heritage at the Goseong-gun Culture and Sports Center. It is expected to be a meaningful lecture that will provide in-depth knowledge and a new perspective on Goseong’s cultural heritage.
A special cultural lecture by traditional art director Jin Ok-seop will also be held at the Goseong-gun Culture and Sports Center on October 17th at 16:00. It will be held under the theme of ‘UNESCO Intangible Heritage of Humanity and the Stage of Goseong Dance’ and will explain through Goseong Dance how traditional art can be creatively used in modern society rather than remaining a legacy of the past.
A Sogaya time travel cultural tour will also be held where you can feel and experience the ancient tombs of Songhak-dong, Goseong, along with expert commentary. It is an adventure-type experience program of exploring the Songhak-dong tomb group and finding treasures in Goseong, which will be held on October 19th. Participants will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis from October 1st to 12th through the Naver form application link on SNS such as Goseong-gun Band and Mom Cafe. It is planned.
