There has been a theft of 10 lakh rupees (more than 14 lakh 29 thousand rupees) from the house of Mohan Babu, the veteran actor of southern Indian cinema. The actor’s secretary has filed a case in the police station.
The Free Press Journal reported that Mohan Babu’s secretary went to Tirupati. From there, on September 22, he returned to Jalapalli village with Rs 10 lakh in cash (more than Tk 14 lakh 29 thousand). There he kept this money in his own room in the servant quarters.
Later he found the money was not there. He then filed a case at Pahadi Sharif police station in Hyderabad. Police reviewed the CCTV footage and found that accused Vedat Ganesh Naik was roaming around the room and left the house at night.
Police arrested Naik on Wednesday (September 25) and remanded him. A case has been filed under section 306 against Naik, who was working as a clerk in that house. Police recovered 7 lakh 30 thousand rupees from 24-year-old Naik.
Mohan Babu is an eminent actor of Telugu cinema. Along with acting, he also produces. He has acted in more than 500 movies in his acting career of five decades. His daughter Lakshmi, sons Vishnu and Manoj are also actors. However, no one has commented after this incident.
