He continued, “It is difficult to secure the medical manpower necessary to normalize essential and regional medical care without increasing the number of doctors,” and added, “The government will speed up the promotion of medical reform, including increasing the number of medical schools, so that the people can receive quality medical services.” He said.
At the same time, he said, “The government will implement the first implementation plan for medical reform, including structural transformation of tertiary general hospitals, without a hitch, and will invest 20 trillion won in finance over 5 years.”
Finally, Minister Lee said, “As there are consecutive public holidays in early October, we will monitor the operation status of 411 emergency medical institutions and quickly take necessary measures.” He added, “The central and local governments will do their best to maintain a stable emergency medical system by mobilizing available resources as much as possible.” “I will do my best,” he said.
