Samsung fans can be happy: This year’s FE cell phone from the manufacturer is primarily an upgrade to the normal Galaxy S24. Unfortunately, this also applies to the price.
On October 4th the time has come: Samsung will release the Galaxy S24 FE. The “Fan Edition” has proven its strengths in recent years as an alternative to the manufacturer’s top cell phone model. This year the FE is again a slightly different version of the Galaxy S24.
Slightly changed means that there is a little more in some places and less in others. There is more to it when it comes to size, for example. At 162 × 77.3 × 8.0 mm, the S24 FE is larger than the normal S24 with dimensions of 147 × 70.6 × 7.6 mm. That’s why the S24 FE weighs 213 grams instead of 167 grams.
There is less when it comes to the display. Like the normal S24, the FE has a Dynamic AMOLED screen with up to 120Hz. However, the FE display, at 1,900 nits, is less bright than the screen in the S24 with 2,600 nits.
The Galaxy 24 FE is powered by an Exynos 2400e processor. This is a slightly modified and more efficient version of the Exynos 2400 that works in the S24. Samsung has installed a 4,700 mAh battery in the new device.
The camera equipment is also impressive: the front camera has 10 megapixels. On the back, Samsung has installed a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera, which is accompanied by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens.
The AI functions under the name “ProVisual Engine” are intended to make the camera even more powerful than previous models. Among other things, the image quality is improved in difficult lighting conditions.
Samsung has increased the price this year: the manufacturer wants 749 euros for the model with the lowest equipment, with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Last year’s model with the same features cost 699 euros when it launched.
At 809 euros, the device equipped with 256 GB of memory is now correspondingly more expensive than last year’s model, for which Samsung charged 759 euros.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE will be available from October 4, 2024 in the colors Blue, Graphite, Mint and Yellow. According to Samsung, anyone who orders a Galaxy S24 FE in the manufacturer’s online shop or in the shop app will receive a Samsung Galaxy Watch FE19.
