Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held a meeting with Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma in New Delhi. On this occasion, discussions were held on better implementation of Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal river linking project.
Praise of PM Modi
CM Mohan Yadav said that the long running dispute between the two states has been resolved. Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that under his leadership the river linking campaign is going on on a large scale.
Everyone’s interest in the matter
After the meeting on Wednesday, CM Yadav said, ‘Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the river linking campaign is going on on a large scale. Especially, the cultural, economic and social connection of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan is such that it seems as if both the states are one state. Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma and Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil are also taking interest in it.
The dispute is 20 years old
He said, ‘There was a 20-year-old dispute between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, which has not only been resolved but has been brought to a conclusion and its results will be out soon. The area of river linking project is also increasing. I am satisfied that this is going to be unique for both the states in the times to come.

In a post on Wednesday, CM Yadav wrote, ‘Today in New Delhi in the presence of Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil, a meaningful discussion was held with Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma regarding better implementation of Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal River Project.’
‘This link project includes providing drinking, irrigation and industrial water in 13 districts of Eastern Rajasthan, Malwa and Chambal regions of Madhya Pradesh, besides providing irrigation in more than 2.8 lakh hectares in both the states (total 5.6 lakh hectares or more). There is a proposal to supplement the ponds located en route in the states.
