An expert speaks of the “Turbo”: The DAX breaks a sound barrier with more than 19,000 points. Medium-sized companies also benefit.

After the setback in the middle of the week, the Dax is on the way up again and has set the next record. On Thursday, the German leading index exceeded 19,000 points and climbed to 19,253 points. At the end of trading, the DAX claimed a price gain of 1.69 percent to 19,238.36 points. The MDax for medium-sized companies ultimately rose by 1.82 percent to 26,797.03 points.

The Dax turned on the turbo and closed comfortably above the 19,000 point mark, which from a technical point of view indicates a continuation of the upward trend, commented analyst Konstantin Oldenburger from broker CMC Markets. “The monetary policy stimulus from China acts as a boost for both local stocks and indices around the world.”

After China’s central bank had previously announced far-reaching measures to stimulate the domestic economy, the political leadership also signaled its willingness to support on Thursday. Further price drivers were the ongoing hopes almost worldwide that interest rates would continue to fall and positive corporate news from the USA.
