Throne Day: the Moroccan embassy in Bogota offers a sumptuous reception

This celebration was marked by the presence of senior Colombian officials, notably the President of Congress and the Senate, Mr. Efrain Cepeda, parliamentarians, his ambassadors accredited to Colombia, notable figures from the world of business, media, culture and civil society, in addition to the civil and military authorities, as well as members of the Moroccan community established in Colombia.

In a speech delivered on this occasion, the Moroccan ambassador to Colombia, Farida Loudaya, noted the importance of the Throne Day for all Moroccans, who commemorate “25 years of stability, progress and active diplomacy” , under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.

Ms. Loudaya thus gave an overview of the great achievements accomplished by the Kingdom during the last 25 years of the Reign of HM the King, having enabled the “modernization of infrastructure, economic development and improvement of the quality of life of Moroccans.” , thanks in particular to “social reforms and a climate of stability favorable to large foreign investments”.

Under the Very High Guidance of HM King Mohammed VI, Morocco “has always worked in favor of a pragmatic and non-emotional diplomacy, based on a firm and balanced foreign policy”, said the Moroccan diplomat, before insisting on the principles guiding the Kingdom’s external action, “based on the defense of national interests and respect for the sovereignty of countries, their territorial integrity and non-interference in the internal affairs of States”.

Thanks to this Royal Vision, Morocco has “strengthened its ties with countries around the world and reaffirmed its position as a key strategic player in Africa and the Arab world”, and making the Kingdom “a reference of stability and leadership both at the regional and continental level”, underlined Ms. Loudaya.

In this same vein, the Moroccan ambassador to Colombia highlighted the role played by the Sovereign as a fervent defender of multilateralism, positioning himself as a “visionary leader who promotes regional and global integration”.

“My country is committed to dynamic promotion of South-South cooperation,” she continued. And added that Morocco seeks to strengthen its ties with other countries of the South, in particular with Latin America, highlighting the role played by the Kingdom in the rapprochement of Africa and the Arab world with the ‘Latin America.

The Moroccan diplomat also took the opportunity to return to the Atlantic Initiative, launched by HM King Mohammed VI, designed to “strengthen economic and political cooperation between the countries bordering the Atlantic Ocean”.

Ambassador Loudaya further noted the rich cultural heritage that has been preserved and promoted in Morocco for several centuries, during which “a unique blend of tradition and modernity” was forged within Moroccan society, valuing “diversity, tolerance, mutual respect and freedom of religion”.

“All this has led us to consolidate the pillars of an open and influential Morocco on the international scene,” concluded Ms. Loudaya, highlighting “the invaluable contribution of the Moroccan community living abroad (including that established in Colombia) to the promotion of Moroccan culture and values, as well as their role in strengthening ties between our Nations.

For his part, the President of the Colombian Congress and Senate, Mr. Efrain Cepeda, highlighted the political, economic and social reforms that Morocco has undergone under the aegis of HM King Mohammed VI, placing the Kingdom in as a regional and continental leader and strategic partner of Colombia and Latin America in Africa and the Arab world.

This celebration was, moreover, distinguished by the broadcast of several videos produced by the Moroccan embassy in Colombia where the guests were able to see the main diplomatic achievements of Morocco, under the Reign of His Majesty King Mohammed VI , as well as various video capsules highlighting the economic, social, cultural and tourist potential of the Kingdom.

The guests, present at this event, wished to express their warm and respectful congratulations to the Very High Attention of His Majesty the King, on the occasion of the Throne Day.
