The Visa Exemption Program allows Qatari citizens to travel to the United States for a period of up to 90 days without obtaining an entry visa, and in return, US citizens will enjoy the same privileges when traveling to the State of Qatar.

The United States Departments of Homeland Security and State said that Qatar is the 42nd member to join the US Visa Waiver Program, and is also the first Gulf and Arab country to join it.

The US Department of Homeland Security indicated in a statement that, as of December 1, 2024, the US Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) online application and mobile phone application will be updated to allow citizens in Qatar to apply for travel to the United States. United States for tourism or business purposes for up to 90 days without obtaining a US visa.
