In search of the special features of Anyang City, we visited the ‘Smart City Integration Center and Anyang Green Maru’ in Jung-gu, Daejeon. The ‘Hope Learning Bus’ operated by Daejeon Jung-gu to tour advanced regions arrived in Anyang City on the 27th.
According to Anyang City on the 27th, 22 people, including Daejeon Jung-gu Office Director Kim Je-seon and public officials, visited three places that are considered excellent examples of Anyang City, including the Smart City Integration Center, Anyang Green Maru, and Smart Care House, from 13:00 to 18:00.
First, the visiting team visited the Anyang City Smart City Integration Center, which was newly built and relocated last April, and experienced a control system that operates in real time using cutting-edge technology in various fields such as transportation, environment, crime prevention, and welfare.
In particular, we received a detailed explanation of the artificial intelligence (AI)-based smart intersection system, intelligent crime prevention system, and smart safety service for the elderly that have strengthened urban safety, and were introduced to the current operation status.
Next, the visiting group met with Anyang Mayor Choi Dae-ho in the reception room of Anyang City Hall and talked about creating a smart city.
Kim Je-seon, head of Daejeon Jung-gu District Office, said, “Anyang City’s smart city is an innovative example that other local governments with both technological and administrative capabilities can emulate,” and added, “Through this visit, we plan to introduce these advanced technologies to Daejeon Jung-gu as well.”
Anyang Mayor Choi Dae-ho said, “Anyang City has been steadily upgrading and upgrading its infrastructure under the slogan ‘smart city,’” and added, “I am very happy to share the accumulated smart city technology, and I hope that it will be an opportunity for Daejeon Jung-gu and Anyang City to coexist.” He said.
The visiting team also visited ‘Anyang Green Maru’, a climate change experience education center, and ‘Smart Care House’ created through the Urban Regeneration New Deal project.
At Anyang Green Maru, the process of green remodeling an old masonry sewage treatment plant and its rebirth as a space for climate change-related education, communication, and experience is explained, as well as carbon neutrality and efforts to expand citizens’ understanding of the climate crisis and spread a culture of practice. I was introduced to the effort. I also experienced various exhibitions and education at Anyang Green Maru.
At Smart Care House, a 4-story community communication space for residents, we toured the senior center, village cafe, shared child care center, and shared care center. On this day, Smart Care House was introduced as an integrated welfare space for residents with various welfare facilities, including a village cafe independently operated by a social cooperative established by residents, and as a representative excellent example of Anyang City’s urban regeneration project.
