jpnn.comRIAU – The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Islamic University of Riau together with the Riau Regional Police Directorate and Security, held a national seminar and a declaration of peaceful regional elections.
In this declaration, students were educated that the role of students as agents of change and supervisors of regional elections with integrity is very large.
UIR Student President, Ahmad Deni, said that this activity was a concrete manifestation of students’ concern for a clean, peaceful and transparent democratic process.
“We are proud to be pioneers in holding this national seminar and peace declaration. “This event makes UIR the first campus in Riau to pioneer the declaration of a peaceful 2024 Riau Regional Election,” said Deni.
He hopes that UIR students can become agents of control who actively supervise the 2024 Riau Regional Election, ensuring the process is democratic, fair and free from money politics.
It is also a momentum to raise public awareness, especially the younger generation, of the importance of intelligent and critical participation in regional elections.
“The role of students as election observers is not only a moral duty, but also a social responsibility,” added Deni.
Responding to this activity, the Director of Intelligence and Security at the Riau Regional Police, Kombes Efrizal, emphasized that this activity was proof that the Regional Elections were not only the responsibility of the security forces, but also the cooperation of all elements of society, including students.
