The Council of Ministers appointed Anita Velikova as deputy director of the Agency for Public Enterprises and Control (APPK).
In order to ensure the activity of the agency’s management body, it is necessary to complete the composition and appoint a new member of the executive board – a deputy executive director, possessing the necessary educational degree, professional experience, potential and qualities for the successful implementation of the agency’s functions.
Velikova has a master’s degree in law, has extensive professional experience and the necessary management skills. Over the years, she held various management positions in public enterprises under the Ministry of Economy. From September 2023 to the present, she is the director of the “Administrative” Directorate at the APPK. She knows the structure and functions of the state administration, as well as the administrative and legislative procedures regarding public enterprises, privatization, post-privatization control, which makes her candidacy suitable for the position of deputy executive director of APPK, the government announcement said.
The Agency for Public Enterprises and Control is an administration under the Council of Ministers for the implementation of privatization and post-privatization control in the cases provided for in the Law on Privatization and Post-Privatization Control, for implementing the coordination of state policy in relation to public enterprises in accordance with the Law on Public Enterprises, as well as carrying out activities under Art. 42 of the Concessions Act. The executive director of the agency is a secondary budget manager under the budget of the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
The Executive Board consists of three members – an executive director and two deputy executive directors, who are appointed and dismissed by the Council of Ministers. Persons with advanced education are appointed as members of the executive board.
