FIFA selects an Iraqi referee for the Futsal World Cup finals

/ On Friday, the Futsal Referees Committee of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) chose an Iraqi referee to officiate the final matches of the 2024 World Cup in Uzbekistan.

The Iraqi Football Association stated in a statement received by Agency, that the International Committee chose the Iraqi international referee, Hassan Muhammad al-Jubouri, after he underwent many successful practical and theoretical tests in the Asian Confederation.

Federation member and supervisor of the Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee, Yahya Zaghir, said, “This selection came after the level of arbitration presented by our international referee in the Asian and Arab championships, through which he obtained high evaluation scores that were sufficient for him to be assigned the task of refereeing in the World Cup finals, in This is the first step in the history of Iraq at the futsal level.”

For his part, Chairman of the Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee, Ali Abdul Hussein, explained that “the participation of our international referees in foreign tournaments gave a positive impression that the Iraqi referee is qualified to be present in the largest international tournaments.”
