Steel Unit W is a survival game where elite female soldiers form a team and fight for the honor of the unit. Steel Unit seasons 1-3 (2021-2023) are directed by producer Shin Jae-ho. Writer Kang Sook-kyung was absent from Season 3, but she will return to work. In addition to Chu, MC Kim Seong-ju, group ‘Super Junior’ Kim Hee-cheol, mixed martial arts athlete Kim Dong-hyun, and wrestler Jang Eun-sil will host the event. Choi Young-jae joins as a master following seasons 2 and 3.
Kim Seong-ju said, “It is clear that there is prejudice against female soldiers,” and added, “I think the production team also had concerns about making it. I think the viewers will view it with some prejudice, and I myself will ask myself, ‘Is it possible?’ I thought.
