Yeoncheon-gun hosts a fall festival. Yeoncheon-gun, a ‘museum without a roof,’ launched a large-scale promotion ahead of the fall festival that represents the region. Yeoncheon-gun announced that it will hold the ‘2024 Yeoncheon Chrysanthemum Festival’ and ‘Yulmu Festival’ starting with the ‘6th Yeoncheon Koryo Ginseng Festival’ on October 4th.
From October 4th to 6th, the ‘6th Yeoncheon Koryo Ginseng Festival’ will be held at the square in front of Yeoncheon Station on Metropolitan Subway Line 1. At this year’s festival, you can see 6-year-old ginseng grown by farmers in Yeoncheon, a clean area in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), as well as a variety of local agricultural specialties. In particular, this year, in addition to the agricultural products market, new entertainment activities such as a ginseng song contest, a ginseng arm wrestling contest, and a 1,000 won auction are attracting attention.
From October 18th to 27th, the ‘2024 Yeoncheon Chrysanthemum Festival’ will be held successfully at the Jeongok-ri Historic Site in Yeoncheon. Yeoncheon-gun plans to present 10 million chrysanthemums, a subway, a windmill, a wish tower, and other large-scale sculptures and bonsai works, creating a colorful and beautiful attraction. The Yulmu Festival, a representative specialty of Yeoncheon, will also be held from the 25th to the 27th.
Accordingly, Yeoncheon-gun is intensively promoting the festival through wrapping advertisements on the outside of buses, focusing on Seoul and southern Gyeonggi Province, which have large floating populations.
Yeoncheon-gun is promoting the Korean Ginseng Festival, Chrysanthemum Festival, Yulmu Festival, and Dapsari Garden through exterior wrapping advertisements on about 26 buses on major routes in Seoul and southern Gyeonggi Province for one month from the 13th of this month to October 12th. Previously, Yeoncheon-gun carried out a renewal to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the birth of the official characters Gorongi and Mirong, and produced and distributed moving emoticons. The Gorongi and Mirongi emoticons were sold out within 4 minutes of being distributed and were very popular.
This wrapping advertisement is receiving a great response by using images of Gorongi and Mirongi, which were renewed for the 20th anniversary, and the pink-colored Dapsari Garden of the Imjin River. Repeated exposure to advertisements is having a positive effect in promoting the festival and raising awareness of Yeoncheon-gun.
Yeoncheon-gun plans to actively promote major policies and projects such as Gyeonggi-do’s only second home special zone, special education development zone, and green bio cluster through various media, as well as festivals and agricultural specialties.
A Yeoncheon-gun official said, “We hope that the fall festival will serve as an opportunity to publicize Yeoncheon’s clean nature and excellent agricultural specialties to visitors.” He added, “With the opening of Seoul Metropolitan Subway Line 1 and the steady increase in the number of visitors to Yeoncheon, the number of tourists visiting Yeoncheon is increasing. “We will work hard to increase satisfaction,” he said.
