jpnn.com – CENTRAL LOMBOK – Free practice 1 (FP1) MotoGP Indonesia 2024 at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, NTB, Friday (27/9) morning WIB claimed victims.

The Portuguese racer riding Trackhouse Aprilia Miguel Oliveira fractured his right wrist.

The 2022 Indonesian MotoGP champion was rushed to hospital in Mataram.

“He will undergo a three-dimensional CT scan at a hospital in Mataram to evaluate whether surgery is needed or not,” read a statement from the Trackhouse team.

Oliveira suffered a hard impact at Turn 3-4 in the middle of FP1 which took place on a track that was said to be dusty and slippery.

After being thrown onto the track, Oliveira sat on the edge of the track and was placed on a stretcher by officers before being taken to the Medical Center.

“The fracture means Oliveira is likely to be out for the rest of this weekend and is doubtful for next weekend’s Japanese MotoGP,” read the Crash crew’s review.

Oliveira is the only racer who had an accident in the premier class (MotoGP), but many racers in Moto2 and Moto3 practice sessions had accidents.

The 2024 Indonesian MotoGP main class will continue with practice starting at 14.00 WIB. That’s an important session.
