NothingOS 3.0: lots of new features, new widgets and top-notch customization

by time news

Nothing has recently expanded its range of audio products with the launch of new earphones Nothing Ear (open). The company is also working on integrating artificial intelligence into its operating system, offering performance improvements and some visual improvements. Carl Pei, founder of Nothing, and Yuri Levin, responsible for software design, presented the new features of the skin Nothing OS 3.0 on the company’s YouTube channel, following a preview of the update shared earlier this year.

NothingOS 3.0: what to expect?

Nothing OS 3.0 will bring several changes, including a redesign of the Android interface and the long-awaited photo management app called “Nothing Gallery”. One of the most common issues with many installed apps is the difficulty of quickly finding the one you want. To solve this problem, Nothing OS 3.0 will offer the ability to “pin” the most used apps to the top of the list, making them easily accessible. Furthermore, the integration of AI into the Smart Drawer will improve the organization of apps by automatically dividing them into categories. Although this feature may seem similar to others already seen, Carl Pei’s company says that its artificial intelligence will analyze the use of apps and show the most relevant ones at the right time.

Among other new features, we find a new widget that will allow you to display a countdown to help users manage time better. As for visual improvements, the aesthetics of the Nothing OS 3.0 skin have been refined with new elements, such as the quick settings panel and lock screen clock. Autobrightness is now integrated into the brightness slider button. Finally, a new dot animation has been introduced that uses an updated animation engine to make visual effects, such as those for fingerprint and charging, more fluid. Last but not least, the weather icon in the Weather app has also been redesigned in a dot matrix style, in line with the general aesthetics of the user interface.
