Kuala Lumpur: Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, who is wanted in several cases in India, is going to Pakistan in October. Zakir Naik’s son Sheikh Fariq Naik will also accompany him on the Pakistan tour. The Government of Pakistan has sent invitations to both of them, where the father and son will address gatherings in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Before going to Pakistan, Zakir Naik’s son has given an interview to a Pakistani YouTuber. He has talked many things about his father and India. Pakistani YouTuber Nadir Ali questioned Fariq Naik about his family fleeing India. On this, Fariq said that when this matter started, his family was not in India. Fariq said that ‘Many people say that Dr. Zakir Naik ran away, that is not true. Actually we were not in India at all.

He said that ‘if we were in India and ran away from there, that would be running away.’ On Nadir’s question, Farik told that this whole controversy started a day before Eid. At that time his family was in Mecca. Fariq mentioned the bomb blast in Bangladesh and told how his father Zakir Naik was the target due to a follower.

‘Father was falsely accused’

In the year 2016, there was a bomb blast in Bangladesh. Bangladeshi newspaper Daily Star had reported about one of the attackers that he was influenced by the teachings of Zakir Naik and was his follower on social media. Fariq declared his father innocent and said that ‘he was accused of spreading terrorism only because one of the attackers followed his father on Facebook.’

Fariq further said that ‘We said that show us even one statement in which we have supported terrorism… We thought a lot, but the media escalated the matter so much that we decided that we will not go to India.’ Fariq told that the Indian government had said that Zakir Naik should first come to India, then charges would be imposed against him.

He alleged that ‘We know how people’s lives are ruined all over the world, including India, by putting them in jail on false charges. That’s why Abba said that whatever you have to do, we can do it on Zoom. But they (Government of India) did not agree to this.

He said that if there had been a fair trial in our case, we would have definitely gone back. After this he accused the Indian judiciary of not being impartial and held the Modi government responsible for this.

Who is ahead in adopting Islam?

In response to a question, he told that people all over the world who have converted to Islam contact him. He also said that ‘among those who accept Islam, the number of women is more than that of men. This is because Islam has given a lot of respect to women. Western civilization has insulted women a lot. He claimed that two-thirds of those who converted to Islam in Western countries after 9/11 were women.

After this, Nadir Ali asked Fariq that Zakir Naik has converted two-three hundred people to Islam, how many people have you converted to Islam. On this, Fariq said that he had converted only ‘two-three people to Islam’. He also said that many convert to Islam through Peace TV.
