The Ministry of Youth and Sports holds the Baghdad Table Tennis Championship for people with special needs

The Department of Physical Education and Sports, Department of Sports Activities, in the Ministry of Youth and Sports, held the Baghdad Table Tennis Championship for people with disabilities and special needs, with the participation of more than (20) players for both genders, and in cooperation with the Mawhiba Bismaya Center.

A statement by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, received by the (INA), stated that “the tournament, whose competitions were held in the sports activities hall in the youth complex at the Ministry’s headquarters, witnessed strong competition among the players and in the presence of parents who followed the tournament competitions.”
For his part, Director of the Sports Activities and Programs Department, Najm Abdul Mutasher, confirmed that “the tournament came in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, which emphasizes the necessity of caring for the segment of people with special needs, and supporting them athletically and socially. It is one of the free initiatives held by the department, and aims to develop the players’ skills.” By providing opportunities for interaction with their fellow players, and also contributing to their social empowerment and support in all fields.”
Mutashar stated that “the parade ceremony witnessed the raising of the flags of Palestine and Lebanon in solidarity with them, due to the brutal attack on defenseless citizens by the usurping Zionist entity.”
