New information regarding the “removal” of Christos Mastoras from Marinella’s concert at the Herodes Atticus Theatre has come to light from entertainment reports.
As it became known on Tuesday, September 24, Christos Mastoras will not participate in tonight’s concert of Marinella at the Herodes Atticus Theatre, as was scheduled, with initial reports indicating that this was due to the fact that the singer did not attend the second rehearsal for the big event.
Shortly thereafter, an announcement from the production company, as well as from Christos Mastoras himself, referred to a health issue affecting the artist.

However, newer reports suggest that there were issues between the two performers even during the previous rehearsal for the big night.
Specifically, according to what Aphrodite Grameli said on the show “To Proino,” citing information from Marinella’s close collaborators, the prominent performer is said to have considered Christos Mastoras unprepared during their last rehearsal.
“Before the general rehearsal at the Herodes, where Christos Mastoras did not appear, there was a rehearsal in which a lot of technical mistakes occurred. Marinella was a bit taken aback by the fact that Christos Mastoras made mistakes, forgetting lyrics and not being technically ready, while she has been performing, as her collaborators told me, the same songs for many decades and insists on rehearsing songs she has sung thousands of times. According to Marinella, this image did not need just one more rehearsal, but many more to improve. In the penultimate rehearsal, Christos Mastoras appeared unprepared, causing concern,” Aphrodite Grameli stated.
“When this rehearsal was completed, Christos Mastoras promised Marinella that he would come the next day and everything would be perfect. The next day, when the rehearsal was scheduled for 10, Christos Mastoras had not appeared, and with a delay, while everyone was looking for him, a text message was sent to the conductor’s mobile, informing him that he was ill and could not come. What Marinella’s collaborators conveyed to me is that Christos Mastoras wrote in the message ‘I am not well, I am sick, I can’t come.’ He sent it 25 minutes before the rehearsal,” she added.

At the same time, Stamatina Tsitsili noted on her show that she contacted Christos Mastoras and was worried by what she heard.
“I managed to talk to Christos Mastoras yesterday and the way I heard him truly worried me. I heard a person in very bad shape, struggling to get his voice out. He was in a difficult situation, he must have been lying down and trying to gather his strength. In fact, I felt bad and asked him, ‘Did I wake you up?’ He replied, ‘No, I am very ill.’ I don’t want to replicate how he spoke, but he sounded like a very troubled, burdened person,” the presenter described.
“I asked him, ‘Do you understand what has happened, what is being written and said?’ He replied, ‘I would not want to overshadow this night in any way, nor will I enter the process of responding, I want to recover.’ A few hours later, of course, he made that specific post because he realized the dimensions this issue had taken. I heard a person in a very difficult situation,” she added.
Poseidon Giannopoulos: Marinella is a ‘monster’ of perfectionism
Poseidon Giannopoulos also made statements on the matter, emphasizing among other things that Marinella is a “monster” of perfectionism.
“On one hand, there’s talk of Christos Mastoras leaving, on the other hand, there’s talk of his removal. I don’t know what it is in the end, I don’t have a report. Just with the knowledge I have from these 3.5 decades in the field, I assume that on one hand, I know Marinella and I think there would be the utmost professionalism and dedication, because that’s how Marinella is, and on the other hand, without knowing again why the person has issued a statement saying he has a health problem, I know that younger artists are a bit more laid back, as we say humorously, ‘it doesn’t matter, let me go 15-30 minutes late to the rehearsal, it doesn’t matter if I don’t know the lyrics to some songs, I’ll learn them later.’ It’s not like that. If this happened, I believe it would have bothered Marinella, who is a ‘monster’ of perfectionism, rightly told Antonis Remos to take the songs,” said Poseidon Giannopoulos.
