The Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) executive council has been reorganized with Farooq Ahmad Sardar as the president, Farid Ahmed Majumdar as the general secretary and Mejbah Uddin Saeed as the EC member.

The committee was formed unanimously by the members present at the 10th meeting of the Hub Executive Council on Thursday (September 26).

Hub executive council elected president M. The post of president became vacant when Shahadat Hossain Taslim resigned on August 22 due to physical illness. Farooq Ahmad Sardar was the Secretary General of the Executive Council before becoming the President of the Hub.

He was elected president unanimously by the members. Farid Ahmed Majumdar was made Secretary General in the vacant post of Secretary General. Newly elected President Farooq Ahmad Sardar and Secretary General Farid Ahmed Majumdar expressed their gratitude to the members and said on Friday night, as in the past, we want everyone’s cooperation. Our main goal is to provide hassle-free beautiful and orderly Hajj management by serving the guests of Allah. There is no opportunity for any kind of irregularity and corruption in Hajj management. Harassment of Hajis will not be allowed. All of us should be united for the sake of good Hajj management. As in the past, it is our promise to be by the side of the Hub Agency owners through the ups and downs. We hope, with the collective efforts of all of us, the Hajj management will be better and more prosperous and orderly in the future.

In order to reduce the cost of Hajj, the necessary program will be taken in discussion with the government, the leaders of the hub said that if the air fare is reduced, the cost of Hajj will come down. If the cost of Hajj decreases, the number of pilgrims will also increase. Many devout Muslims cannot afford to go for Hajj even if they want to. We also want the cost of Hajj to be reduced. They formed a technical committee with civil aviation experts and demanded reasonable air fares.

Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) is the organization of owners of Hajj agencies recognized by the government and approved by the Royal Saudi Government engaged in serving Hajj pilgrims. At present its membership is 1172 people. The company is a first class commercial organization, registered by the Ministry of Commerce and Joint Stock Company. Hub is one of the first class not-for-profit service organizations under the apex body FBCCI, governed by the TO Rules of Trade Organization. For the welfare of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, it is engaged in smooth and orderly Hajj management at home and abroad.
