He harasses his partner’s daughter while they sleep in a textile workshop with other people: “If you talk, I’ll kill you”

PADUA – He would have molested her since she was fourteen. And the morbid attention towards the little girl would continue for six very long years. It is a very serious accusation that a Chinese worker, now forty-two years old, resident in Sant’Angelo di Piove, has to defend himself from. The man, defended by the lawyer Luca Voltan, has always firmly rejected every accusation. And he chose to defend himself before the collegiate court. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has an opposite opinion. The deputy prosecutor Sergio Dini, who coordinated the investigations by the Piove di Sacco carabinieri, believes the story provided by the victim to the investigators to be credible. The prolonged and repeated harassment would have caused the girl a very serious state of anxiety, resulting in several hospitalizations at the CIM, the Mental Hygiene Center, and in repeated suicide attempts. On one occasion she even threw herself from the third floor of a house and miraculously managed to save herself.

INSIGHTS

Harassment of the partner’s daughter

The public prosecution requested and obtained the indictment of the accused. The trial will open on November 5th with the testimony of the victim and her mother, long-time companion of the forty-two-year-old who is now in the dock on charges of sexual assault, aggravated by the cohabitation bond. Mother and daughter, also of Chinese origin, did not, however, take civil action in the trial. The abuse of the girl dates back to 2016. But it was reported much more recently, upon returning from a long trip that mother and daughter had undertaken in their homeland. Once they returned to Italy, the young woman, who had in the meantime become an adult, filed a complaint with the police.

The threats

The worker’s morbid attentions would have taken place in a context of serious promiscuity, in rooms where, together with mother and daughter, 7-8 other Chinese workers lived together, all involved in the manufacturing of clothing items. Bedrooms and laboratory were located in the same building in Arzergrande. The victim’s mother did not witness any of the episodes described by the girl. He only reported to the investigators a circumstance in which the worker was in bed with the minor by his side and may have carried out the harassment. The conditional sentence remains mandatory because the man kept his hands under the covers and the woman was unable to confirm whether her partner had actually committed the crime. The victim claims that she was also threatened by the man so that she would not tell anyone what happened within the four walls of the house. The worker allegedly addressed her with the phrases “Shut up, it’s better for you and for me too” and “Shut up, if you don’t listen to me I’ll kill you”.
