BOLZANO. Yesterday morning the Agents of the Flying Squad of the State Police executed an Incarceration Order issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Bolzano against L. Z. – these are the initials, a 32 year old Moroccan citizenirregular on the national territory.

The man, already sadly known to the police for an enviable “criminal curriculum” (mainly in the South Tyrolean capital), was tracked down by the Flying Squad Policemen in via Isarcoduring a specific service to prevent and combat widespread crime and drug dealing in the city centre. From the outcome of the investigations carried out at the Database of the Ministry of the Interior, it emerged that the man was the recipient of an Incarceration Order, having to serve a sentence of 1 year and 6 months of imprisonment, as a result of convictions for various thefts aggravated crimes and a robbery committed in recent years in Bolzano.

The robbery had been carried out at the Sportler store: on that occasion LZ, after being caught stealing, had attacked an employee who had ordered him to stop and wait for the arrival of the police. In recent days, LZ had been reported by his sister because, taking advantage of her distraction, he had stolen her smartphone and then sold it in order to obtain narcotics. The Police Commissioner of the Province of Bolzano Paolo Sartori, therefore, in consideration of what happened and the dangerousness of the individual, issued an Expulsion Decree from the National Territory against him, which will be enforceable upon his release.

“Drug dealing represents a particularly serious crime not only for the effects it produces in itself on those who consume drugs, who are even ready to rob their relatives in order to secure their daily dose, but also for the context in which it finds fertile ground for its diffusion and for the criminal activities it generates, in terms of degradation, petty crime and consequences on public order and safety – underlined the Police Commissioner Sartori. For this reason, prevention and combating its spread represents one of the priorities for the Police Forces, committed daily to guaranteeing the safety of citizens”.
