Minos Matsas is a very successful composer, lyricist, and producer. He is the grandson of the founder of the Minos EMI record label, which is why he was born into a musical family with a vivid tradition in the recording industry and a father who was at the peak of his creative powers. Minos Matsas’s Career and Life
He graduated from the Athens Conservatory and the Juilliard School. In 1994, he composed his first cycle of songs titled A Thousand and One Nights Again, with lyrics by Akos Daskalopoulos. In 1995, four of his compositions were included in George Dalaras’s compilation album Welcome.
As a composer, he has dozens of films to his credit, theatrical performances, as well as television programs. He has collaborated, among others, with director Costa-Gavras for the film The Parthenon, as well as in the performances of Aristophanes’ Birds and Peace, which were staged at the ancient theater of Epidaurus. He has been awarded at the Thessaloniki Film Festival (for Eduart and Slaves in Chains). He also wrote the music for the film The Undisputed III: Redemption (2010).
In 2016, he musically dressed the original text of Georg Büchner’s Woyzeck, while in 2017 he released the soundtrack for Giannis Sakaridis’s second feature film Amerika Square, based on the award-winning novella by Giannis Tsirbas, Victoria Does Not Exist.

Before meeting Olga Kefalogianni, marrying in 2021, and shortly after having their twins through in vitro fertilization (see their love story and how they reached the separation), he was in a relationship with the successful actress Maria Kitsou.
They were together for about a year, with the actress stating at the time to Real News, “Yes, Minos makes me very happy! I thrive by his side. I am very well, I feel very lucky and grateful for what we are living.” However, after the beautiful love they experienced, they eventually separated quietly in 2019.
