jpnn.comBOROBUDUR – PT Brantas Abipraya is building the Borobudur Art Village in Kujon, Borobudur District, Magelang Regency.
Construction of the art village, which will be equipped with a museum and parking area, will begin construction at the end of 2023 and is ready to be inaugurated by President Joko Widodo this October.
This construction is targeted for completion in September 2024.
Kujon Art Village is a national strategic project that is being carried out by this state-owned construction company to support super priority destinations in Borobudur.
“Built on an area of 10.7 hectares, the arrangement of the Kujon Arts Village will be equipped with a number of facilities such as an amphitheater (an open arena for performing arts), a museum, an art souvenir market, culinary delights, parking and a shuttle (shuttle facility),” said Director of Operations II Brantas Abipraya, Purnomo.
For information, the Borobudur Art Village is a national strategic project launched by the central government to support tourism in the Borobudur area.
Arrangement activities have started since the groundbreaking was held in November 2023 and construction of the arts village was completed this September.
Purnomo said that part of the area of this art village will later be used as a trading area, containing all the traders who were originally in zone 2 and this area will also be used as a parking area for vehicles for temple visitors.
Brantas Abipraya will continue to respond quickly by carrying out repairs and maintenance on several building areas and the Borobudur area.
