The Public Ministry determined that the North Central Prosecutor’s Office will be in charge of investigating the possible existence of crimes involved in the millionaire salary of Marcela Cubillos at the San Sebastián University.

The North Central Prosecutor’s Office began an investigation into the $17 million monthly salary that Marcela Cubillos received as an academic at the San Sebastián University, after the complaint filed by the socialist deputies Daniel Manoucheri and Daniella Cicardini.

According to what was confirmed by the Public Ministry, the investigation will seek to clarify the existence or not of possible crimes of corruption, bribery, bribery and irregular financing of politicsamong other topics.

In the document presented by Manoucheri and Cicardini in the Prosecutor’s Office, the socialist deputies stated that “we have come to file a complaint for possible crimes of corruption, bribery, bribery, irregular financing of politics, simulated contracts and any other criminal offense that arise from the facts investigated, as a result of the millionaire salaries that the San Sebastián University paid to Mrs. Marcela Cubillos“.

“The questions are not only related to this contract, but also to a series of contracts that were made over a long period of time, which reasonably raise doubts regarding the use and destination of public resources transferred by the State of Chile to the private universitywhere the resources of all Chileans could have been misused and even profited from,” the text adds.

Faced with the above, the party members requested that “an investigation is initiated into the possible commission of a series of criminal offenses against those found responsible for the crimes of corruption, bribery, bribery, irregular financing of politics, simulated contracts and any other criminal offense that arises from the facts investigated.”
