With a solemn concert today, September 28, the Bulgarian School “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” – branch in Cape Cod, USA, will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its foundation. This is clear from a post on the Facebook page of the educational center, shared on behalf of the school management, BTA reported.
The school holiday is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm and run until 3:30 pm local time, hosted by the City of Cape Cod Communications Center.
From the information shared, we also learn that the school’s anniversary program is planned to include “a look back at the school’s history and achievements and a ceremony to recognize important actors, contributors and donors.”
“Join us to celebrate together our first decade of academic excellence, growth and community spirit.” It is an honor for us to celebrate with you the past, present and future of our beloved school!”, added the management.
As BTA wrote, the Bulgarian Sunday School “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” opened its doors in 1999 and was the first Bulgarian school established in the vicinity of the city of Boston. It was founded on the initiative of patriotic Bulgarians with the aim of preserving the Bulgarian language and culture abroad. The school program offers the study of the Bulgarian language , literature and history, as well as various extracurricular activities such as vocal singing, fine art, folk dances and thematic creative workshops related to the customs, folklore and culture of Bulgaria.
During the 2014/2015 academic year, in response to the wishes of the Bulgarian community, the school opens a branch in the city of Cape Cod.
