JAKARTA, Waspada.co.id – Polda Metro arrested five people who were indicated as perpetrators of breaking up and destroying the discussion of Refly Harun and his friends (et al) at the Grand Kemang Hotel, South Jakarta on Saturday (28/9). Those arrested were FEK, GW, JJ, LW and MDM.
“The five people we arrested were FEK, GW, JJ, LW and MDM,” said Deputy Chief of Metro Police Brigadier General Pol Djati Wiyoto Abadhy as reported by the Republika page, Sunday (29/9).
He said that the man with the initials FEK acted as the action field coordinator. Then GW was the person who entered the seminar room and carried out an act of vandalism.
Furthermore, the perpetrator JJ also played a role in going inside to disperse it and even vandalizing it by removing the billboards that were inside.
The fourth male LW also vandalized and broke up the event inside. Lastly, MDM perpetrators, this is almost the same, namely dispersing and vandalizing inside the building.
“We have arrested these five people and we will look for other perpetrators who were involved in this act of destruction and abuse,” he explained.
Polda Metro Jaya will also investigate the motives and drivers of this mass group. “We will carry out screening and in-depth investigation of the perpetrators. “Who is driving it, what is the motive, what is the aim,” he explained.
He emphasized that Polda Metro Jaya does not tolerate all forms of thuggery and anarchism.
Apart from that, his party also carried out an internal investigation into the National Police officers who were on security duty during the demonstration. “Is there a violation of standard operating procedures (SOP) or not,” he said.
He gave an example, whether an inspection of the number of personnel involved had been carried out and then during the event, what actions would be taken, including if dynamics developed, what should be done.
“We will carry out an internal investigation if there are violations committed by our members during yesterday’s security activities,” he explained.
Ready to be criticized, he said that his party was ready to accept criticism regarding shortcomings and weaknesses in officers carrying out their duties as material for evaluating and improving the implementation of their duties. “We have a responsibility to protect and secure the city of Jakarta,” he said.
Apart from that, on Saturday (28/9), there was a demonstration in front of the Grand Menteng Hotel, South Jakarta, from the Community of the Homeland Love Forum of around 30 people.
They took action demanding to disband discussion activities carried out by a group of people in the name of the Diaspora on the grounds that there was no permission, it was dividing unity and unity and so on.
He said that police officers from the Mampang Police carried out security activities and there was an action of pushing each other between the action participants who wanted to enter the hotel to break up the discussion at the hotel.
“So, there was an action of pushing each other and we tried to mediate so that the seminar activities were accelerated so that the officers focused on guarding the demonstration,” he said again.
Then suddenly, from behind the hotel building, around 10 to 15 people burst in from the back door into the discussion room.
Having been prevented, he said that at that time the members were still focused in front of the hotel carrying out security activities for the demonstration and suddenly around 10 to 15 people immediately rushed into the building.
According to him, preventive measures were taken by hotel security personnel, resulting in violent beatings.
However, because the officers were unbalanced, the crowd managed to get in and vandalize the billboards inside. After the incident, the officers at the front then headed to the back building which was about 100 meters away.
