The owner of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) He appeared before the local Congress about the work achieved during the current administration, where he explained that the country’s capital has a police force with a gender perspective, more effective and more humane.
“Today we have a more motivated police force, with a better horizon of professional development and work dignity, and with greater tools to consolidate itself as a corporation, at the same time, more effective and more humane”Vázquez Camacho stated during his appearance.
The police chief explained that the Security and Peacebuilding Strategy is based on the axes of attention to the causes; construction of more and better police officers; strengthening research; and effective coordination with the three levels of government, which allowed positive results such as a decrease in the rate of high-impact crimes.
“High-impact crimes were reduced by 64%, intentional homicide by 45%, firearm injuries by 59%, vehicle theft with violence by 70%, robbery of an account holder by 79%, business robbery by 70%, robbery from public transport 64%, from a delivery man 79%, from a home 49%, and kidnapping in more than 80%”he detailed.
Regarding the police force, he highlighted historic salary increases that currently present a cumulative 63% in six years; also a significant increase in the presence and participation of women; and the tripling of promotions and decorations, thus promoting a vision of gender and respect for human rights.
Vázquez Camacho stressed that there is also an improvement in training and opportunities for professional and technical development, which has allowed better fulfillment of tasks, to which he added that, in addition, “a clear gender perspective and a strong commitment are promoted.” with human rights.
Regarding coordination with the capital’s Prosecutor’s Office, he highlighted that it has led to the capture of 295 criminal cells and the arrest of 2,743 alleged criminals, in addition to the dismantling of criminal structures and the capture of generators of violence, including 40 targets. priorities during this year.

The police chief stressed that, despite the positive results achieved, there is still work to do, where the main challenge of the current strategy implemented is to provide continuity and continue building on the foundations that already exist.
