Marrakech: The “Yiriba Africa” troupe from Burkina Faso amazes the FNAP audience

The participation of this young troupe, which combines traditional dance and the percussive rhythms of tom drums, is part of the 53rd edition of the National Festival of Popular Arts (FNAP), an event placed under the high patronage of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, and which highlights Burkina Faso, a country with which the Kingdom maintains excellent relations of friendship and partnership.

During this captivating and rhythmic dance show, featuring a series of complex musical compositions at varying tempos, the members of the troupe performed their movements with remarkable elegance and virtuosity.

This unique musical performance allowed the Moroccan public and spectators from sister African countries to reconnect and appreciate, at its true value, the rich intangible cultural heritage of Burkina Faso.

On this occasion, Sékou Sanogo, leader of the “Yiriba Africa” ​​troupe, in a statement to MAP, expressed his great joy at participating in this festival and visiting the Kingdom, while praising the warm welcome reserved for his troop throughout their stay in Morocco.

For her part, the Ivorian Safiatou, who came from Casablanca to attend this show rich in rhythms and sounds, expressed her admiration for the artistic interpretations performed, with mastery, by this troupe of talented artists.

“These shows are magnificent, and it’s wonderful to discover other cultures,” said the child Ismail, who came with his family to attend this vibrant evening.

Fruit of a partnership between the Grand Atlas Association and the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and benefiting from the support of the prefecture of the Marrakech-Safi region, the Regional Council, the Municipal Council and the commune of Mechouar-Kasbah, this cultural event constitutes a joyful occasion to celebrate an integral part of the national identity, both multiple and unified.

Placed under the theme “Eternal Rhythms and Symbols”, this 53rd edition of FNAP brings together for the occasion hundreds of artists from more than 30 Moroccan folk troupes as well as numerous international troupes from China, Indonesia and Burkina Faso. Faso.
