BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu said that Sheikh Hasina fled to India in the face of intense mass movement. India has to decide whether to establish democracy or fascism to side with those who have killed democracy, endangered freedom, carried out genocide.

He said these things at a rally organized by the Desh Bachao Manhoob Bachao Andolan in front of the National Press Club on Monday (September 30). The rally was held to demand an end to border killings, the trial of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the return of smuggled money.

Shamsuzzaman Dudu said, ‘Bangladeshis are being killed at the border. It’s not just happening today, it’s been going on for a long time. It is natural that the people of independent-sovereign Bangladesh will want security. The Bangladeshi citizens who are killed are within the borders of Bangladesh. They are being killed indiscriminately without any warning. It is a heinous crime. I strongly condemn and protest it. It must be closed. There is no such barbarity on the border of any other country in the world.’

He said, ‘Bangladesh Interim Government Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus went to address the General Session at the United Nations. Several countries including America have met with him. But India ran away, did not sit with the chief adviser. That means they are not sitting with democracy.

Vice Chairman of BNP said, ‘The Awami League government has committed unlimited looting, murdering democracy, and killing people indiscriminately. For the past 16 years, under the leadership of Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina, BNP leaders and activists have either disappeared or killed them and filed cases against them. They have diverted so much money from Bangladesh Bank that no other political party in any other country in the world has a precedent. This money has been smuggled abroad. Trafficked to neighboring countries and other countries.’

The former member of parliament warned money looters and said, ‘those who looted money from Bangladesh and smuggled it abroad, send that money back to the interim government wherever it is. This money belongs to the people of the country. There is no compromise with anyone until this money of the working people is recovered.

President of Desh Bachao Manhoob Bachao Andolan KM Rakibul Islam Ripon presided over and Acting General Secretary Raju Ahmed moderated the rally and also addressed the rally – Joint Secretary General of BNP Khairul Kabir Khokon, Imran Saleh Prince, Chairman of Bangladesh Labor Party Lion Farooq Rahman, Vice President of Jatiya Gontantric Party (JAGPA).
