He mistreated his wife. First with psychological and then also physical violence. The daughters were dragged into the horror. A forty-year-old from Merano will no longer have to get close to his wife and children: the Court of Bolzano has ordered this. The judicial police section of the Merano public security police station, at the end
of the investigation activities, proceeded to execute an order implementing the precautionary measure which provides for the removal from the family home and the “prohibition of approach and contact” issued against a forty-year-old resident in Merano. The precautionary measure issued by the Court of Bolzano ordered the immediate removal of the suspect from the family home in Merano and not to return.
and not to access it without the judge’s authorization, with the prohibition of approaching his wife and the places frequented by her, with the requirement to keep a distance of at least 500 meters, avoiding communicating in any way through any means. The ban also applies to
the couple’s three minor daughters.
The investigation
The provision arose at the end of a detailed investigation carried out by the Merano Police Department and coordinated by the Bolzano Public Prosecutor’s Office following the initial report received from the staff of the Merano Hospital through the activation of the “Erika Code”.
The investigations carried out by the Merano investigators made it possible to verify the validity of the crime report, subsequently also acquiring the woman’s complaint, which was followed and constantly supported by the Merano Anti-Violence Center and the Merano Police Station. It has been documented in this way, from the summer of 2024 up until today, the state of psychological pressure to which the man has systematically subjected his wife for reasons of jealousy, repeatedly using psychological violence against her and making their cohabitation unbearable.
In recent times, in particular, the man not only offended and threatened his partner, forbidding her from leaving the house alone and finding a job, but also continually demanded information on who she frequented, saw or spoke to in his absence. A few weeks ago (we’re talking about the beginning of September) the man had moved from psychological violence to physical violence, attacking the woman and one of her three daughters under 11 with punches and kicks. On this occasion, the victim, despite the man having stolen her house keys, managed to escape with the three little girls and ask for help on the emergency number “112 NUE”.
Following a final episode of violence and persecution, in which the man brandished a knife over a video call and threatened to return home otherwise he would kill her, the victim, exhausted by the situation, decided to ask for help again, following which she and her three daughters were rescued and placed in a protected facility. The State Police investigators took steps to report to the judicial authorities all the harassment and violence suffered by the woman and her three little daughters, of such severity as to cause the victim a serious state of anxiety and fear, both for herself and for her children, and such as to force her to move away from her home, upsetting her life habits
