BOLZANO. 50 meters: This is the difference in height between the foundations of WaltherPark on the 4th basement floor and the point where the tree was erected on the roof of the 7th floor. At the finishing ceremony, Thursday 26 September, Heinz Peter Hager presented a series of data and facts about the project, which is about to be completed: the first deliveries will take place at the end of the year. The WaltherParkin the area between Via Alto Adige, Piazza Verdi and Piazza della Stazione in Bolzano, is the largest private construction site in the history of Alto Adige, both in terms of size and amount invested, for a total of over 600 million euros, of which more than 106 million euros went to the Municipality of Bolzano.

“Maybe the hospital in Bolzano is comparable in size, but it was built in many different phases to its current size,” says Hager, president of WaltherPark AG. In addition to the central shopping center, there will be offices for the public administration and private companies, a kindergarten and other public facilities, a modern 4s hotel and 110 apartments located in 7 buildings on the roof of the central structure. Added to this are infrastructures such as the new bus station, an access tunnel to the car parks in the center of Bolzano, cycle and pedestrian connections, a structure for the cooling of the Isarco river and a brand new station park, so say those responsible for the project. Construction is now well underway and, while the last residential building has reached roof level, internal works in other areas of the building are nearing completion: the first office units in the building along Via Garibaldi will be delivered to end of the year, Hager announced.

“89.6% of the commercial spaces in the center have already been rented and we are bringing over 70 new brands to Bolzano.” Of the 110 apartments, 54 have already been sold and most of the offices have also been sold. After the first offices, the first apartments will be delivered at the beginning of 2025, while the car park will be put into operation in March. The hotel, which will be managed by Falkensteiner, will also open in spring. The “High Street Gallery”, with shops, restaurants and various service providers, will open in late August/early September.
