The Iraqi national team defeats its Lebanese counterpart in West Asia for juniors

/ The Iraqi youth football team managed to achieve victory over its Lebanese counterpart, 3-0, in its second match in the second round of the first group competitions of the 10th West Asian Federation Under-17 Championship.

The match started at four o’clock in the afternoon today, Wednesday, at Al Sa’ada Stadium in the Omani city of Salalah.

The first half ended with the Iraqi team leading with a free goal for Lebanon. The goal was scored by Ahmed Yasser in the 34th minute.

In the second half, the Iraqi national team scored another goal against Lebanon through player Zain Al-Abidin Jassim in the 50th minute, while Iraq scored its third goal against Lebanon through Zain Al-Abidin Jassim in the 72nd minute.

The Iraqi team lost its first match against the Yemeni team at the beginning of its journey in the West Asian Federation Under-17 Championship, with a score of 2-1.

The Sultanate of Oman will host the tournament during the period from 11 to 20 December, with the participation of 8 teams: Oman, the host, Yemen, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and the Emirates.
