The Bulgarian Vice President also presented specific data on the activity of bilateral Bulgarian-Chinese relations: “The growth in recent years of trade between Bulgaria and China has been significant – as of 2015 it was about 1.7 billion US dollars, and for 2023 it will be about 4 billion US dollars. There is great potential for cooperation between our two countries in various fields. China is a strategic partner of Bulgaria. This is clearly stated in the key declaration that Presidents Rumen Radev and Xi Jinping adopted in 2019,” the vice president also stated. She gave an example of the opening by the Bulgarian head of state in Sofia a week ago of a large trade forum of leading Chinese companies, leaders in the field of technology, innovation, digitalization, banking, logistics, transport and energy, giving special congratulations to HE Ambassador Dai Qinli for his organization.

Bulgaria can be an intermediary in the deepening of relations between the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, emphasized Vice President Yotova.
She also gave concrete examples of the good cultural cooperation between Bulgaria and China, which is the most direct way to getting to know each other through culture. “I am happy that we have active cooperation in this area as well – the Confucius Institute and the Chinese Cultural Center are among its drivers,” the vice president emphasized and wished to continue the promotion of cultural ties between the two peoples with the outstanding achievements of our centuries-old history, culture and traditions.
In his speech, the Bulgarian vice-president paid special attention to the contribution and important role of the Bulgarian editorial office of KMG, saying: “I would also like to emphasize the important role of the Bulgarian editorial office to the Chinese media group, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Through you, dear colleagues, Bulgaria knows China better, and China knows Bulgaria better with all the possibilities for joint projects!”
