Iraqi oil seeks to compensate for its losses in the West Asian Super Cup

/ Today, Wednesday, Al-Naft Basketball Club faces its Iranian host, Gorgan, at the conclusion of the first stage of the group stage of the West Asian Super Championship (Wasl).

Oil team manager, Khaled Yahya, told Agency: “We seek to correct the course and compensate for the two previous losses despite the strength of the competing Iranian team. We have developed a plan that suits the capabilities of the Gorgan players, and we seek to appear at an honorable level befitting the Iraqi basket in today’s match.”

Yahya added, “The team will play its third match in the tournament today at eight o’clock in the evening, away from home against Iranian Gorgan, which is one of the best teams in the first group, which also includes Al-Ittihad Ahli Aleppo and Lebanese Hekma.”

The Al-Naft basketball team lost in two matches in the tournament, to the Lebanese Al-Hikma team, with a score of 90-78 points, and to Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahly Aleppo, with a score of 79-72 points.
